Katherine Kao's practice focuses on complex business litigation and a variety of appellate matters, including fraud and contract rescission. She also has experience in matters involving shareholder and partnership disputes, fraudulent transfers, fiduciary issues, and trusts and conservatorships.

Prior to joining Valle Makoff LLP, Ms. Kao worked for the Judicial Council of California's Office of Court Research and United States Pretrial Services.

Ms. Kao earned her J.D. in 2009 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California. While in law school, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Constitutional Law and was a research assistant for Professor Ethan J. Leib. She received her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006.
